 WHAT IS?

The Don Quijote Award is a prize from the IFSS – International Federation of Film Societies given in selected Festivals. The FICC Jury in each Festival is composed by film society activists from any country of the world, selected among the nominations from national Federations of Film Societies.
It consists of a plaque and diploma and the promotion of the film all over the world among film societies.

The basis for the selection are the film society mouvement philosophy, as based on the Chart of Tabor of the Rights of Public and the Quijote utopia.

HOW?
The Festival aplies close to the Executive Committee of IFSS to establish a FICC Jury of 3 or 5 persons, according to the case, one or two members must be nationals. The Festival should support Jury members with full travel or partial expenses, hotel and meals, as well as access to all Festival activities.
Once the FICC Jury is established, the Festival contacts IFSS with no less than two months in advance, in order to allow the call and selection of Jury Members. This procedure is quite important as the Jury Members are selected from a large number of possible candidates.
WHOM?
Film society activists are not mandatory film makers or specialists. Film societies activists are film lovers, people involved in the Film Culture and came with different backgrounds. This is a different approach to films based on the analysis of films but also on self cinematographic experiences as well as the film society movement philosophy.
WERE?
Many Film Festivals,  mainly based in Europe but growing around the world. (list)

Donquixote-picasso EL PREMIO DON QUIJOTE

 ¿QUÉ ES?

El Premio Don Quijote es un reconocimiento de la FICC (Federación Internacional de cineclubs ) que se otorga en festivales de cine seleccionados.  El jurado FICC está compuesto por cineclubistas de cualquier país del mundo, nombrados por Federaciones nacionales de Cineclubs. El premio consiste en una placa y un diploma y la promoción de la película en todo el mundo a través de los cineclubs. La base para la selección de los films premiados tiene que ver con la filosofía del movimiento cineclubista, así como también la Carta de Tabor de los Derechos del Público.

¿CÓMO?
El Festival ha de comunicar con el Comité ejecutivo de la FICC para establecer un  Jurado  de 3 o 5 personas, según el caso. Uno o dos miembros deben ser nacionales. El Festival debe apoyar con los gastos de viaje completo o parcial, hotel y comidas, así como el acceso a todas las actividades del Festival.
Una vez que el jurado FICC queda establecido, los contactos entre el Festival y la FICC se deben iniciar al menos con dos meses de antelación, a fin de permitir la convocatoria y la selección de los miembros del jurado.  Este procedimiento es muy importante ya que los miembros del Jurado son seleccionados entre un gran número de posibles candidatos.
¿QUIÉN FORM PARTE DEL JURADO?

Los cineclubistas no son ni realizadores ni críticos. Son personas amantes del cine, cinéfilos, que participan en la cultura cinematográfica de su ciudad y que tienen diferentes orígenes.  Este es un enfoque diferente basados en la analisis del lenguaje cinematográfico, pero también en las experiencias cinematográficas individuales.
¿DONDE?
En muchos festivales de cine, principalmente en Europa pero se intenta alargar a todo el mundo. (lista)

 QU’EST-CE QUE C’EST?

Le prix Don Quijote est une récompense de la FICC (Fédération internationale des ciné-clubs) qui est accordé dans des festivals de cinémas sélectionnés.
Le jury est composé par des membres des ciné-clubs partout dans le monde, sélectionnés parmi les propositions reçues par les ciné-clubs des fédérations nationales. Le prix consiste en une plaque et un diplôme et la promotion du film autour du monde à travers les ciné-clubs. La base pour la sélection des films primés à a voir avec la philosophie du cineclubisme, ainsi que la Lettre de Tabor  sur les droits du public.
COMMENT?

Le Festival doit se communiquer avec le Comité exécutif de la FICC et établir un jury de 3 ou 5 personnes, le cas échéant. Un ou deux membres doit être nationale. Le festival soutient le coût deVoyage, total ou partial, hôtel  et  repas, ainsi que l’accès à toutes les activités du Festival.
Une fois que le jury FICC est établi, les contacts entre le Festival et la FICC doivent être initié au moins deux mois à l’avance, pour permettre l’appel et la sélection des jures. Cette procédure est très importante parce que les membres du jury sont tirés d’un grand nombre de candidats potentiels.

QUI ETS CE JURY?

Les cineclubistes ne sont ni réalisateurs ni critiques. Ils sont des amateurs de cinéma, cinéphiles, impliqués dans la culture cinématographique de leur ville et ont des origines différentes. Cette approche est différente des critères fondés uniquement sur l’expérience du langage cinématographique.
